AWIEF is a pan-African women economic empowerment organisation which nurtures and actively promotes women innovation and entrepreneurship through its development programmes, accelerators, and networking events, including the annual AWIEF conference, exhibition and awards.

AWIEF 2019 was a stellar lineup of experts, thought leaders, policymakers, researchers, investors and women entrepreneurs from across Africa and beyond.
Green Energy Startup Incubator & Accelerator
AWIEF has launched a new initiative “Enterprise Development for Women-Owned Ventures in Green Energy” and is pleased to announce a Startup Incubator and Accelerator programme. The 12-month programme is funded by the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF), and will support 70 women involved in renewable and green energy production in two African countries – Malawi and Nigeria.
LeadTech Incubation Program
AWIEF partnered with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), Morocco to launch LEADTECH INCUBATION PROGRAM. Despite Africa being one of the fastest growing technology markets in the world, women’s participation in the technology sector remains considerably low. LeadTech is a continental program to support promising and innovative women-owned or women-led digital startups in Agriculture, Biotech, Education, Environment, Finance, and Health.
AWIEF Growth Accelerator
AWIEF Growth Accelerator is a three/four-month business skills development programme, including pitch training and mentorship, designed to support early-stage women entrepreneurs with business modelling and growth strategy required to scale their enterprises, become investment ready and develop entrepreneurial leadership. The programme serves to enhance business linkages and access to finance.
FemBioBiz enables female entrepreneurs and leaders in bioscience-based businesses to grow their business through an accelerator programme, gain regional exposure and access to international markets. The programme is implemented in partnership with Hivos and NEPAD SANBio.
Funded by the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA ACP-EU), #VALUE4HER is a programme that seeks to strengthen women-led agribusiness enterprises in Africa.
